market that is completely chemistry-free. It uses ThermoFuse technology to physically bond images
to the plate without any chemical processing. The result is highly stable and predictable thermal

The Xcaliber Plate Manager System

A steady pipeline of plates

Xcaliber is an extremely efficient platesetting solution that allows you to output up to twenty 8-up plates per hour in a fully automated configuration. This high level of productivity is made possible by a multi-stage pipeline concept that allows handling, imaging, and processing to occur simultaneously. For example, while one plate is being processed, another is prepared for exposure. As a result, production cycles overlap, enabling true parallel processing. This approach ensures that high-quality plates are available more quickly-without any delays within the system. And this highly productive approach is only possible since Agfa designed all three components of the system.

Xcalibur includes innovations at every stage of the process-from handling incoming plates to registering them for exposure to centering them for processing.

Agfa’s :Azura is a thermal, negative working plate for low/medium volume commercial printing where simplicity, robustness and reliability are important. It provides the high quality imaging you’d expect from a thermal system, without chemical processing.
